On April 23, 2025, President of the Board of Centrum Techniki Okrętowej S.A., Jan Dobinski, and President of the Board of Polski Rejestr Statków S.A. (PRS), Grzegorz Pettke, signed a cooperation agreement aimed at jointly carrying out research and development activities for the advancement of the maritime and offshore sectors in Poland and abroad.

The agreement between the institutions covers a wide range of joint activities, primarily the implementation of research and development projects to support the shipbuilding and offshore sectors in Poland and abroad. The cooperation will particularly focus on:
- development of new technologies and standards for the maritime industry,
- participation in projects financed from national and EU funds,
- joint research and analysis in the areas of aerodynamics or hydrodynamics, structural strength, dual-use technologies, environmental testing of industrial devices and ship equipment, and environmental protection
- organization of training, seminars, and conferences related to the maritime sector,
- periodic consultations and exchange of information in the areas defined in the agreement,
- substantive support in the work and tasks carried out for the benefit of the IMO, the EU, and the Polish Maritime Administration due to existing obligations resulting from signed international agreements.
Both companies will mutually support each other in key issues, carrying out research, tests, and measurements, verifying the requirements of the IMO and the EU, as well as engaging in activities related to the decarbonization of shipping, increasing the energy efficiency of maritime transport, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. CTO and PRS will also conduct consultations and perform tasks related to CFD analyses, focusing on the development of shipbuilding technologies, maritime safety, alternative fuels, and the optimization of propulsion systems and propellers using CFD and FEM methods.
The agreement marks a step towards deepening cooperation for the development of the Polish maritime economy, enabling the realization of joint projects and the implementation of innovative solutions in the maritime sector.
